Dear Friends,
As president of the Friends of the Parks, let me personally invite you to become a member of this dedicated parks advocate group. Founded in 2003, Friends of the Parks was organized as a volunteer support organization for the San Antonio Parks System, which functions under the umbrella of the San Antonio Parks Foundation.
The objective of Friends of the Parks is to broaden support for the public park system of San Antonio, to provide a stronger link between neighborhoods, individual citizens and the parks, and to create and renovate more park spaces for the enjoyment of all citizens.
As dedicated members of Friends of the Parks, we work hard to service our community through what we like to call “Workdays.” Volunteer groups and individuals interested in gaining new experiences, meeting new people, and wanting to give back to the community, work together in renovating a local park in need. Friends of the Parks is also the proud producer of the largest Kite Festival and Dog Fair, A Fest of Tails, in San Antonio. Every year in March, A Fest of Tails showcases a sky full of kites, dogs of all sizes and breeds, live music, arts and crafts and much more!
I invite you to join me, my fellow board members and our talented committed staff in supporting San Antonio’s parks. We have many exciting projects ahead of us and we count on your support and contributions.
